Ever see the commercial on those memory foam matresses where they have a somebody jump up and down on a memory foam matress with a glass of wine placed on the same matress on the other side that doesnt spill? Well this wheelchair cushion is based on the same technology. This wheelchair cushion retains and returns to its original shape after repeated change in shape. Sitting on this wheelchair cushion, the foam will shape itself to the contours of your bottom. Definetly great for long periods of sitting in a wheelchair. A friend of my mother in law is also in a wheelchair. She recently purchased one of these memory foam cushions for her wheelchair. She likes to read books, especially in her enclosed porch. Rather than sitting on lawn furniture she has on her porch, she bust out her memory foam cushion for her wheelchair, and takes it to her porch and reads away. One thing she likes about the memory wheelchair cushion is that it doesnt leave her bottom numb! She gives it 8 out of 10 stars!

My wife’s mother has been diabetic (type II) for the past 25 years. I never knew prior to marrying my wife how debilitating diabetes can make a person. My mother in law always lost her right leg a couple of years ago. Due to low blood circulation to that leg. She also had a wound on that right leg that would not heal. So now she spends pretty much all day in her wheelchair. I never knew how uncomfortable a wheelchair can be. I sat in my mother in laws wheelchair with no cushion and seemed OK to sit in for a couple of minutes. After rolling around in it and trying to do wheelies, ha ha, I had to get off of it. She has a old sofa cushion that’s been flattened out over the years. Providing not so much cushion for her bottom. So I saved up a little and got her a sheepskin cushion for her wheelchair. Its made out of 100% natural wool and eliminates the chance of ripping of the skin. It also absorbs and recirculates moisture and perspiration into the air. Like I mentioned before, it doesn’t provide much cushion. But it does add warmness in the winter months, which are just about over.

So there’s lots of people talking about these gel cushions. And for good reason. In fact, my mouse pad has a gel cushion for the base of my hand. I spend quite a time doing work on the computer. I even got another mouse pad at work with a built in gel cushion for my hands. I recently got one for my mother in law. She fell in love with the gel cushion pad I got her. She takes it with her everywhere she goes. She says its just like you’d imagine to be, like sitting on jello. I got her a 3″ thick gel cushion. She spends lots of time reading and finds this gel cushion so much better than her old couch cushion she used to use. Its also pretty east to clean. This cushion is actually a combination of gel and foam. My mother in law puts the gel cushion in a old pillow case to prevent stains from foods or liquids. I think I’m going to purchase another gel cushion pad for my car!
